Ngongenelelo lwepalamente, ikhomishini yesi-3% yabuyiselwa emsebenzini kwaye iMithetho yeeNqwelo-moya ka-1937 – uMthetho we-134 (54A) yalungiswa ukuze ufundeke ngokuthi “ikhomishini njengenxalenye yemali yokukhwela eyenza umrhumo”.

I-AGM ngokudibeneyo ijonge kwi-Air India ukubuyisela umva imigaqo-nkqubo yayo echasene ne-Arhente yokuHamba kwaye ibe ngumzekelo. I-Air India inokuqinisekisa kuphela ukusebenza kwenqwelomoya ukusuka kwisikhululo seenqwelomoya ukuya kwesinye. Kodwa izihlalo zenqwelomoya kufuneka zizaliswe ziiarhente zokuHamba zemveli kuphela njengoko umthamo wentengiso yewebhu ye-Air India incinci kakhulu.

Ngaphantsi koLawulo olutsha lwe-GST, ii-Arhente zokuHamba zinokuphila kuphela ngekhomishini njengoko kugunyaziswe yi-IATA Resolution 824 (Para 9) kunye noMyalelo we-DGCA we-05 Matshi 2010. Kuya kuzibulala ukuxhomekeka kwiintlawulo zenkonzo njengoko kunokufuneka ukuba kufakwe i-invoyisi ngokwahlukeneyo.

Yiyo loo nto, iAGM yagqiba ngamxhelo mnye ukuba ifune i-5% ikhomishini kwimali eyonyukayo kwaye yonke i-Arhente yee-Travel Community iya kuyixhasa ngentliziyo iphela i-Air India ukuze iphinde ifumane igama layo kunye ne-brand yayo kwaye iya kwenza i-'Maharaja' ibhabhe phezulu njengakwixesha elidlulileyo elizukileyo.

INTO ONOKUYITHATHA KWELI NQAKU:

  • Lohani went on to tell the employees to ‘gird up their loins' and work together to tide over the problems and rebuild Air India to regain its place as one of the leading airlines in the world – a true ‘Maharaja'.
  • Whereas, for our National Carrier, the situation has deteriorated to such an extent because of the huge debt accumulated due to continuous losses over the years that the Government of India has decided on an ‘in principle' disinvestment in order make Air India stronger.
  • Hence, the AGM unanimously decided to demand 5% commission on gross fare and in turn the entire Travel Agents Community will wholeheartedly support Air India to regain its name and brand and will make the ‘Maharaja' fly high as in the glorious past.
